You drained the peace in me

You drained the peace in me,  and I'd let you

For long I didn't think it was within my capacity to stand up to you

And just as I was gathering the last breaths left off of my battles to keep sane around you

You'd strike again,

Only this time turning the damage towards its very source...

Through it all, I'd thought I'd lost the essence of what made me, me

But seeing you crushed by the very demons you savored playing against me shook the tender-hearted in me to her very core

And so I felt you, cried you, and ached for the torment you carried and I so passively suffered.
